Why AEPi?

Build Something New

AEPi at William and Mary is a relativley young organization, founded as a colony in 2001.  Because of this, all members have the opportunity to build something unique, adding their own flavor to the chapter's traditions and rituals.

Jewish Exploration

The brothers of our chapter are a comfortable blend of the types of Jewish people in America. Some attend Shabbat services and are members of Hillel, the Jewish student organization, and others choose just to be in social situations with other Jews. Though we are the Jewish fraternity, we do sustain our non-discrimintory practices in our member recruitment and will never turn away a potential brother because for not being Jewish.  However, we do wish that all members recognize our organization's role in the Jewish community and that Alpha Epsilon Pi is synonymous with "The Jewish Fraternity."

We Are Not Alone

Alpha Epsilon Pi has a strong international organization with over 109 chapters making AEPi the 16th largest US fraternity and the #1 Canadian fraternity. Because of the breadth of the chapters, contact with other chapters in the area is really easy to maintain and expected. With annual regional conclave meetings and a yearly national conference, you can be sure networking with alumni and other active brothers won't be hard.

Strong Extra-Fraternal Relations

AEPi has strong relationships with other Jewish organizations such as the Balfour-Hillel student organization and many groups that offer free trips to Israel to brothers such as Aish HaTorah where brothers in the past have met top political leaders like Yitzhak Rabin, Benjamin Netanyahu, Shimon Peres, Yitzhak Shamir, and Natan Sharansky.

Small and Brotherly vs. Large and Nameless

Tau Pi chapter of Alpha Epsilon Pi prides itself on being a relatively small, tight-knit organization.  We emphasize friendship, brotherhood, and solidarity, and strive to promote acceptance and respect between members.  As a member of our fraternity, you can expect support and encouragement from the other brothers, and will never be thought of as "just a name and a face".
