Castellucio's research focuses on the ways in which feminine subjectivity was negotiated and articulated in Argentine film between 1940 and 1960. Her current project, Cuerpos de mujer, sujetos femeninos y el escenario nacional en el cine argentino: 1940-1960, explores popular commercial melodramas produced before, during and after the emergence of Peronism: La pródiga (1945), Deshonra (1952), La morocha (1955), Mercado de abasto (1955), El trueno entre las hojas (1956), and Y el demonio creó a los hombres (1960). She specializes in contemporary Latin American literature, culture, and film. In the spring of 2012 she will be teaching a course on New Argentine Cinema.
