Health Professions Advising: Bev Sher's Homepage
I am the College's Health Professions Advisor, and I also teach a freshman seminar on emerging infectious diseases in the Biology Department.
If you are planning a career in a health profession other than physical therapy, occupational therapy, or nursing (contact Professor Ray McCoy in the Kinesiology Department for pre-PT, pre-OT, and pre-nursing advice) and you would like some guidance, email me to set up an appointment to talk about your plans. My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org, and my office is in ISC-2, room 2131. I would be happy to talk with you.
The standard handouts for premedical, predental, pre-pharmacy and pre-veterinary students are available through the "Handouts" link on the left side of this page, and include guidance on course selection, a recommended reading list, and some general advice on what premedical students need to do and when they need to do it.
In my blog (see the link on the left side of this page), I post reading recommendations for students who share my interests, which include health policy and infectious diseases.
For additional resources, links, and updates on health professions-related activities at the College, William and Mary students should subscribe to my listserv, email@example.com. To join the group, log into lists.wm.edu, click on the Academic line in the list of types of lists, scroll down to the name of the listserv, click it, and then click the Subscribe link on the left side of the page.
If you have any questions about the program, the best way to contact me is by email; my email address is firstname.lastname@example.org.
