Christopher C. Jones
I am a PhD candidate at the College of William and Mary, studying early American history, where I am actively researching for my dissertation, tentatively entitled “Religion and Revolution in the Atlantic World: Methodism in North America and the Caribbean.” My research interests more generally include the intellectual, cultural, and religious histories of the early American republic and Atlantic World and the rise of New Religious Movements in early America. I received a BA (2007) and MA (2009), both in history, from Brigham Young University, where my MA thesis examined the influence of Methodism on early Mormonism. I also contribute occasionally to the Religion in American History group blog and The Junto: A Group Blog on Early American History, and currently serve on the Board of the Mormon History Association.
