New students who are entering the college for the 2018-2019 year (freshmen and transfer students), as well as current students who are not on the team, will be trying out through video submissions this year. If you are interested in trying out, please email wmtribecheertryouts2018@gmail.com. Interest emails must be submitted by May 15. On that date, we will be sending out information about the requirements for the video submission. The videos will be due by June 15. The second round will consist of individual Skype interviews. Everyone who made it to round two will be notified by July 1. The team will officially be announced by July 15. Those who make the team will be expected to report to campus for camp in mid August and officially be in season from that point forward until spring semester ends in May 2019.

You will be judged based on your motions, dancing ability, crowd appeal, tumbling skills, your strength and ability to work in a stunt group, and your overall fitness level. We are expecting you to be able to excel in each of these areas (with VERY FEW EXCEPTIONS FOR TUMBLING.

Commitment

If you make the team, you are expected to maintain a 2.0 GPA cumulative average and be a full time student taking at least 12 credits unless you have a petition approved by the Committee on Academic Status (CAS).
