Emily Wilcox has been at the College of William and Mary since August, 2011. She is an interdisciplinary scholar whose research and teaching focuses on cultural studies of modern and contemporary China, including literature, film, popular culture, science studies, performance studies, and translation. Emily's current project is a book-length ethnographic and historical study of Chinese dance, based on fieldwork and training at the Beijing Dance AcademyEmily regularly gives talks, teaches, and publishes in English and Chinese. She is affiliated with the William and Mary Confucius Institute (WMCI), the interdisciplinary program in Women's Studies, the Department of Theatre, Speech, and Dance, and the interdisciplinary program in Asian and Middle Eastern Studies (AMES).
