Emily Wilcox was a visiting assistant professor at the College of William and Mary from August, 2011, until August, 2013. She is an interdisciplinary scholar whose research and teaching focuses on cultural studies of modern and contemporary China, including literature, film, popular culture, science studies, performance studies, and translation. Emily's current project is a book-length ethnographic and historical study of Chinese dance in the 20th and 21st centuries. In 2012-2013, Emily led the Reves Center Internationalization Grant William and Mary-China Initiative for Film and New Media. She was affiliated with the William and Mary Confucius Institute (WMCI), the interdisciplinary program in Women's Studies, the Department of Theatre, Speech, and Dance, and the interdisciplinary program in Asian and Middle Eastern Studies (AMES). In 2013, Emily also served as the Program Director for the William and Mary Summer Program in Beijing.
