E.S.S.E.N.C.E. Women of Color

We are ESSENCE: Educating Strength and Sisterhood by Executing a Nurturing Community of Empowerment. Founded in 1993, our purpose is to foster a  community among the women of color at William & Mary. We consider ESSENCE a social outlet, an educational tool, a discussion group, and  a support structure. We invite any and all who are interested in our mission to join us in Washington 306 every other Thursday at 7pm. The first meeting of the semester was January 28th. Membership in the organization is not restricted on the basis of sex, race, religion, national origin, handicap, or sexual orientation.

We are here to build and reach-out to our community so we only encourage the same for our visitors. Any organizations that wish to work alongside E.S.S.E.N.C.E. are encouraged to reach out to us using our social media and email. Look out for  our events throughout the year, and thank you for visiting our website, have a wonderful day!
