Back by popular demand, the GSA (Graduate Student Association) 2nd Annual VIMS-wide community yard sale fundraiser will be held on Saturday, August 22th from 7:30am - 1pm (set up at 6am to 7:30am). 

Being a vendor is super simple and lots of fun - all you have to do is let us know you would like to be a seller and bring your stuff!  The GSA takes care of the rest!  The cost to be a vendor is $10 for students and $20 for faculty and staff (we would like to stress that YOU KEEP ALL YOUR SALE PROFITS!). Please respond to this email ASAP if you plan to be a vendor!  Entry fee (cash or check made to the GSA) is due on Friday, July 31st to Lila Rose (x7679). This will cover the advertising and other associated costs we incur in planning. Any further proceeds will go to the VIMS GSA.

We are advertising in local papers, online, and with signs and flyers, and you will benefit from a central location (with lots of parking) and multiple other sellers that will ensure a large crowd (best bang for your buck). We will have a drinks/snacks stand as well, so that you can stay refreshed and at the end of the sale, the DAV will arrive with a truck to pick up any remaining items you would like to donate so that you can go home to less clutter!   

New student orientation is the following week, so the yard sale is a perfect time for first years to acquire items for their new homes!

By participating in the yard sale, you agree to man your own sale area. We will have a limited number of tables for your use. Please bring a table to ensure you can display all your wares! 

If you do not wish to sell your items personally but would like to DONATE them, the GSA will be happy to sell your items for you, with all profits going to the GSA. The drop off location for donations is PAGE HOUSE in the weight room.  If you need a hand transferring donated items from your vehicle to that location, please let us know in advance and we will make sure someone meets you to help!  

Finally, if you have a BIG or FLASHY item (car, boat, exercise equipment, large furniture) let us know and we can include them in our advertisements.

Last year's sale had over 20 vendors and an estimated > 300 people attended, bringing in considerable profits for individuals - we hope this year will be even bigger and better!
