Orchesis is a chance for serious dancers at the College of William & Mary to receive a further education in the art of movement. As part of the Department of Theatre, Speech, and Dance, Orchesis is led by both Dance faculty and students officers, emphasizing the importance of communication in the company. The company has presented high quality performances since 1941 and seeks to bring innovative and exciting concerts of student and faculty choreography to the community. Orchesis provides an opportunity for students to develop their performing skills, participate in the choreographic process, and contribute to concert production and company leadership.
There are two mainstage shows throughout the year:
DANCEVENT (Fall Semester)
An Evening of Dance (Spring Semester)
