State, Regional and National Resources
State and Regional Resources Equality Virginia is a statewide, non-partisan lobbying, education and support network for the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and straight allied (GLBT) communities in Virginia. TransRights Virginia is a group of trans and intersex people and our allies, united in our desire for fairness and equality. We work for full inclusion of trans and intersex people at all levels within society. We also advocate for culturally competent care among all service providers, including (but not limited to): law enforcement agencies and officials; medical professionals; social workers; educators; domestic and sexual violence case workers. Gay Community Center of Richmond The Gay Community Center of Richmond is a 47,000 square foot Community Center located in Richmond’s Northside for the use of Central Virginia’s LGBT community and supportive agencies and groups. The Gay Community Center of Richmond was founded in 1999 to provide support for the agencies and groups that serve Central Virginia’s sexual and gender minority people, and to educate the public about the many issues facing our community.
