The College of William
and Mary Police Department is grateful for the valuable services provided
by Steer Clear. This student run organization provides several benefits
to the community. First, they provide escorts for students traveling
late at night to increase their safety and to make them more secure.
It offers a safe means of transportation for students that may not be
in a position to transport themselves safely. A clear but unintended
benefit of Steer Clear is their interaction with my department.
The Steer Clear Program
is an important part of the community effort to provide a safe and secure
experience for our students. I appreciate the effort and commitment
made by the administrators and drivers of this fine program and will
continue to support them in any way I can.
