Important Upcoming Events The first 2012 meeting of the TOGA Executive Board will be Tuesday, Feb. 14, 10am at the VIMS Watermans Hall kitchen. All TOGA members welcome. The TOGA Annual Membership Meeting will be held Saturday, January 7, 2012, at McHugh Auditorium in Watermen’s Hall on the VIMS Gloucester Point Campus, from 2:00 to 4:30 pm. Thanks to those purchasing floats, cages and wire benders for the benefit of the TOGA/VIMS Student Fellowship Endowment (following the announcement in the Winter 2011 Newsletter). All of the leftover float material have now been used, resulting in $800+ going to the Endowment. Thanks to those vounteering for the Triploid-Triploid Growth and Longevity Study. Great Article on Aquaculture (Bay Journal-Aquaculture most likely future for Bay's oysters) Oyster Spawing Video from Mike Oesterling- I was recently alerted to a new online video about oyster spawning. It has some great pictures. Check it out: www.aces.edu/dept/fisheries/education/ , from the left menu select "What's New", under Streaming Video Resources select "Spawning Oysters by Thermal Shock" The video is only about 5-minutes long, but very informative.
