Professor Angela Holt is the Director of Bands at the College of William & Mary, where she conducts the Wind Symphony and Jazz Ensemble. She also teaches the conducting and introduction to music courses at the school.

Prior to her arrival in Williamsburg, Professor Holt was the conductor of the University of Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. In addition, she was an associate graduate student conductor of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music Wind Symphony, Symphony Band, Chamber Winds, and Chamber Players, and taught the introduction to basic conducting class for undergraduate students.

She was the conductor of the Pine Tree High School Symphonic Band, "The Dissonance" Jazz Ensemble and associate director of the marching band in Longview, Texas in 2001-2006. Her teaching responsibilities ranged from 6th through 12th grade. These ensembles performed in a variety of venues and competitions being awarded with great honors.

She has played with the East Texas Symphonic Band under the direction of Dr. James Snowden, as a euphonium player. In Texas she maintained a private piano studio, was a trumpet player in the Oakland Heights Baptist Church orchestra and member of the handbell choir. She performed in a number of community events in the Longview area including playing the piano in the pit orchestra of the musical, "The Scarlet Pimpernel" and pianist for the performance of Ralna English, who was a former performer and singer from the "Lawrence Welk Show." Professor Holt has been involved in adjudicating contests and serving as a guest clinician for musical ensembles. She has also had the opportunity to sing in the choirs of world-renown conductor John Nelson, Wheaton College conductor Dr. Mary Hopper, Christian artist Michael Card, and arranger Mark Hayes.

Professor Holt received her Masters Degree in Instrumental Conducting from the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music, studying with Professor Rodney Winther and also Dr. Terence Milligan and Dr. Mark Gibson. Her Bachelor's in Music Education Degree with emphasis in piano was awarded at Wheaton College Conservatory of Music. Her piano instructor was Dr. Daniel Paul Horn, and conducting instructors were Dr. Daniel Sommerville and Dr. Paul Weins. Before her collegiate studies, her teachers were pianist Mrs. Judy Owens and conductor Dr. James Snowden. Professor Holt truly feels blessed to have had and continues to have the support and inspiration from her instructors, colleagues, friends and family in developing this gift and sharing with others the love of music.
