I am William & Mary's Chief Health Professions Advisor. I am also a Senior Lecturer, formerly in the Biology Department and now in the Chemistry Department. In addition to my advising responsibilities, I teach a number of courses, including my long-running writing-intensive COLL 150, Emerging Diseases.
If you are a William & Mary pre-med student, pre-dental student, pre-pharmacy student, or pre-veterinary student, and you would like some guidance, email me to set up an appointment to talk about your plans. I am also happy to assist high school students who are interested in William & Mary, as well as William & Mary alumni. My email address is email@example.com, and my office is in ISC-3, room 2283.
My advising handouts for William & Mary premedical, pre-dental, pre-pharmacy and pre-veterinary students are available through the "Handouts" link on the left side of this page, and include guidance on course selection, a recommended reading list, and some general advice on what premedical students need to do and when they need to do it.
For additional resources, links, and updates on health professions-related activities at William & Mary, students should subscribe to my listserv, firstname.lastname@example.org. To join the group, log into lists.wm.edu, click on the Academic line in the list of types of lists, scroll down to the name of the listserv, click it, and then click the Subscribe link on the left side of the page.
William & Mary does not have a pre-health committee, so we do not provide a comittee letter for medical school applicants, but I am happy to write a premedical advisor's letter for current students or alumni who request one.
If you have any questions about the premed program at William & Mary, or about planning for the other health professions for which I advise, the best way to contact me is by email; my email address is email@example.com.
