Community Involvement

The Chief of Police, Don Challis, makes a statement commending Steer Clear's efforts to keep the William and Mary community safe.

The Student Assembly helps fund a bill to create a new mobile application to allow students to request rides via their phone or computer. This will increase the transparency of wait times and help the drivers navigate more efficiently through a gps incorporated into the driver's side of the application through two new tablets in the vans. This is a very exciting addition to the Steer Clear service and we are very thankful to the Programming Club and our Assistant Director of Technology, Nathan Schaaf, for making this possible.

Steer Clear, and 70 student volunteers, placed 13,470 flags in the Sunken Garden April 28th, 2008 to commemorate the number of lives lost each year to drunk driving accidents.
